School Health

There is an increasing acceptance of the relationship between health and academic performance.  According to the Center for Disease Control, improving student health can increase students’ capacity to learn, reduce absenteeism, and improve physical fitness and mental alertness.

We aim to create a model school in Humboldt Park that will actively and effectively promote health and wellness through a sustainable and multi-level approach that will target all school stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators) and will call for school-wide systematic changes to ensure the long-term sustainability of healthy behaviors.
