Chicago Sun-Times columnist, Mary Mitchell, who will share her stories as a witness of youth violence and how these stories have affected her as a woman, mother, and a reporter.
Also featuring a panel of nurses who work with Chicago children impacted by violence addressing:
- The impact of caring for children injured by violence (both the victims and the perpetrator)
- How violence affects children’s academic performance in selected Chicago Public Schools
- The impact of caring for children rescued from long-term domestic violence situations
